"IT IS HARD TO BELIEVE THAT THIS IS MR. BRADDY'S FIRST NOVEL AS A MURDER MYSTERY AUTHOR. He grabbed my attention from the first paragraph and held it through the last. The crime thriller writer takes you on an exciting journey through the flawed yet sympathetic character of a disgraced, aging lawman in the small village of Cedar Key on Florida's Gulf Coast. He returns from forced retirement to solve the murder of his best friend. This is a story that will take your breath and your heart, and it is well worth the investment of your time to read. I am already looking forward to his next book!" IS

A Deadly Calm in Cedar Key is a compelling mystery that shines most in the richly developed characters. Author Ed Braddy has a remarkable ability to bring each character to life in a way that feels authentic and deeply personal.
Highly recommend this book! Set in the Big Bend of Florida, where the deep woods still stand and the alligators outnumber the people. Kemper McRae is a lawman who sets out to avenge a friend, and all the chaos in his personal and professional life never strays him from his course.
Beautifully written, this story weaves a unique blend of landscape, wildlife, love, human flaws, and murder. Its intriguing storyline hooks you from the start and keeps pulling you back for more.
Besides the excellent writing, story lines, on-target analogies, character development, and vivid descriptions of both people and locale, the author makes this fictional world live inside of you long after you've read the last page.
